West Fraser Announces Third Expansion at Its Newberry, SC, Sawmill

West Fraser announced last Thursday that it plans to invest $17.7 million (USD) in the third expansion in 10 years at its Newberry, South Carolina, sawmill facility, the Longview News-Journal reported (10-10-23).

As in the two previous expansions in 2014 and 2016, the expansion of the sawmill will help West Fraser modernize and increase productivity. To accommodate the project, West Fraser purchased an additional 60 acres of land.

Operations are expected to be online in early 2024. The investment is anticipated to create 30 new jobs.
