Resolute Forest Products to Temporarily Suspend Operations at Its Saint-Thomas-Didyme, Quebec, Facility

As reported in Le Nouvelles Hebdo, Resolute Forest Products Inc. announced Monday (3-6-23) that it has temporarily suspended operations at its Saint-Thomas-Didyme, Quebec, facility until June 11th due to a lack of fiber.

The newspaper quoted Resolute’s spokesperson Louis Bouchard as saying that the temporary closure will not have any impact on workers. The 15 employees directly affected by the shutdown will be moved to other tasks or other facilities. Resolute will assume the additional expenses related to these deployments.

The company will be using the downtime to perform some maintenance work on the facility.
