Greenwood Forest Products Penticton B.C. Announces Immediate and Permanent Closure

Greenwood Forest Products, a Canadian wholesale manufacturer of high-quality T&G wall paneling, edge glued laminated panels, and other value-added products, announced that it had ceased production as of April 1, 2021. The mill located in Penticton B.C. has been in operation since 1983 and employed 30-35 people. In a news release announcing the permanent closure Wade Walker, CEO and owner of Greenwood said, that Greenwood Forest Products has been struggling with continued rising costs of lumber and general lack of lumber availability over the past five years. Walker concluded saying that this recent period has proven to be too hard on the value-added wood sector in B.C. The company plans on keeping a few senior employees to help with the operational wind down and preparation for auctioning the facility its equipment.
