Canfor Revises Curtailment Schedule for Its Fort St. John, BC, Sawmill

In response to a potential nationwide railroad strike by over 9,000 Canadian National Railroad (CN) and Canadian Pacific Kanas City (CPKC) workers, which would impact freight traffic across Canada, Canfor has revised its curtailment schedule for its Fort St. John, BC, sawmill, Energeticcity reported (8-6-24).

The revised curtailment will now run from August 19th until the August 30th. Canfor says weekday shift workers will re-start their first regularly scheduled shift on September 3rd, graveyard shift workers will return on the September 2nd, and weekend shift personnel will resume work on August 30th.

The notice also says that critical positions will be scheduled “as needed.”
