U.S. Commerce Dept. Releases Preliminary Determination for the Second Administrative Review in Antidumping and Countervailing Duty Investigation on Certain Canadian Imported Softwood Lumber Products

The U.S. Department of Commerce, on Friday (5-21-21) released it preliminary determination for the Second Administrative Review in antidumping duty (AD) and countervailing duty (CVD) investigations of imports of certain softwood lumber products from Canada. It is important to note that these rates are only preliminary, rates are likely to change in the final determination.  Moreover, the preliminary determination does not change the duty deposits companies currently pay on their U.S. shipments.  Once the final determination, expected to be released on November 24, 2021, is published in the Federal Register (expected approximately November 30, 2021) the new cash deposit rates will apply for new shipments.
