Interfor Corporation has announced that due to a challenging economic situation, coupled with the difficulties presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, it is planning on curtailing operations at its Glichrist Oregon facility, starting in late June. The curtailment will result in and lay off approximately 130 of its 150 employees at the mill. Andrew Horahan, VP for Western Operations said, “Layoffs will begin in late June and will commence by department depending on workload. Though there is no recall date at this time, we will be reviewing conditions on an ongoing basis.” Horahan went onto say, “During this curtailment, we will communicate regularly with employees to make sure they have the most current information.”
