Cooper Lumber Acquires Thomasville Lumber

Mobile, Alabama-based Cooper Lumber has acquired Thomasville Lumber Company and its sawmill in Thomasville, Alabama, Building Projects Digest reported (5-23-24).

Thomasville Lumber produces 4/4 and 8/4 rough and dressed southern pine lumber for sale in both domestic and export markets.

The Cooper Group is anchored by one of America’s oldest and largest stevedoring and maritime firms. Established in 1905, The Cooper Group has operations on all three US coasts and international operations in Mexico.

The Cooper Group’s start in the lumber industry started with the acquisition of the Cooper Lumber-Carrollton Sawmill facility in 2018, McComb Sawmill in 2022, and now the Cooper Lumber-Thomasville Sawmill, increasing annual pine lumber production to over 57 million board feet annually.
