Canfor Corporation Announces Permanent Closure of Isle Pierre Mill in 3rd Qtr. of 2020

Canfor Corporation has announced its intention to permanently close sometime in the 3rd Qtr. of this year, after an orderly wind down of operations, their Isle Pierre sawmill, which is located near Prince George B.C. Don Kayne, President and CEO of Canfor said, “Unfortunately, the ongoing economic devastation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in the urgent need for Canfor to make this difficult decision.” On yearly basis, as a single shift facility, Isle Pierre was capable of producing ~120 billion board feet of lumber per year.
