Stora Enso Restarts Varkaus and Oulu Pulp and Paper Mills After Finnish Logistics Sector Strike is Suspended

Stora Enso confirmed to EUWID Pulp and Paper that it had restarted its Varkaus mill earlier this week. The mill was idled due to the strikes in the Finnish logistics sector.

A company spokesperson also told EUWID Pulp and Paper that the Oulu mill will be ramping up production this week as well.

The Varkaus mill has a capacity to produce 420,000 ton per year (TPY) of white-top and brown kraftliner and 360,000 TPY of pulp. The Oulu mill’s capacity is 450,000 TPY of kraft liner and 530,000 TPY of pulp.
