AHF Products to Purchase Two West Virginia Sawmills From Allegheny Wood Products

The US District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia last week approved the sale of two sawmills formerly owned by Allegheny Wood Products (AWP) to AHF Products, a Pennsylvania flooring company, West Virginia Public Broadcasted reported (4-2-24).

AHF will purchase the two sites from a court-appointed receiver for $7.5 million. The hardwood sawmills—located in Randolph County and Greenbrier County, West Viriginia—are among the AWP mills that abruptly stopped production in late February.

AWP is facing a lawsuit from United Bank, which is seeking $40.5 million in damages for unpaid principal and interest. In addition, a worker in Mercer County filed a lawsuit in federal court last month, seeking class action status, alleging the company failed to provide the required 60 days notice before laying off workers.
