Södra Lowers Swedish Timber Prices
Södra lowers the price of forest raw materials (translated)
On Tuesday, Södra announced it has lowered Swedish timber prices across all assortments, citing higher supply and weaker demand in its operating areas.
Södra said winter demand for timber has remained somewhat weak. At the same time, the pulpwood and fuel markets are under pressure due to persistently high supply. Against this backdrop, Södra will reduce prices for sawn assortments, pulpwood, and fuel assortments effective February 3.
For sawable assortments, the basic price for spruce logs is reduced by SEK 50/m3fub, while pine logs fall by SEK 100/m3fub. Prices for small logs and logs, including both spruce and pine, are reduced by SEK 75/m3fub.
For pulpwood, the basic price for both softwood and hardwood pulpwood is lowered by SEK 30/m3fub.
The basic price for fuel wood is reduced by SEK 30/m3fub, while logging residue prices are cut by SEK 10/m3s.
