UK’s A&J Scott Provides Update on New Sawmill Construction

UK-based A&J Scott Ltd. said phase one groundworks at its Mill 10 project have been completed, with construction now underway on the new sawmill building, The Forestry Journal reported (2-1-26).

The project, announced last year, is located in Northumberland, UK. The new facility will house a fully integrated, high-specification sawmill, including log infeed, a high-performance sawline, automated high-speed edging, crosscut, stacking, and sorting lines for both center and side-board products.

The company said the building is expected to be completed in spring or summer of 2026. Machinery deliveries and installation are scheduled to begin during the second half of this year.

Management expects the new mill to increase sawn timber output by 40%. The facility is projected to be operational in early 2027.
