Brazilian Exports of Wood-Based Products Decline 18% Year-Over-Year in August
According to the International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO), Brazilian exports of wood-based products (excluding pulp and paper) totaled $220.5 million in August, down 18.0% from $268.4 million in August 2024.
Pine sawnwood exports fell 12.0% in value, from $48.2 million in August 2024 to $42.6 million, with export volume down 7.0% from 205,700 m3 to 191,100 m3.
Tropical sawnwood exports rose 26.0% in volume, from 17,600 m3 to 22,100 m3, and 34.0% in value, from $6.5 million to $8.7 million.
Pine plywood exports declined 27.0% in value, from $58.7 million in August 2024 to $42.8 million, and 21.0% in volume, from 173,600 m3 to 136,700 m3.
Tropical plywood exports jumped 87.0% in volume and 67.0% in value, from 1,500 m3 and $0.9 million in August 2024 to 2,800 m3 and $1.5 million.
Wooden furniture exports fell 8.0% year-over-year, from $48.4 million in August 2024 to $44.6 million in August 2025.
