Brazilian Exports of Wood-Based Products Increase Year-Over-Year in July

According to the International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO), Brazilian exports of wood-based products (except pulp and paper) increased 9.9% in July to US$305.7 million compared to $278.3 million in July 2023.

Pine sawnwood exports increased 33.7% in value to $53.6 million in July, up from $40.1 million in July 2023. In volume, exports were up 31.8% in the same period, from 173,500 m3 to 228,700 m3.

Tropical sawnwood exports declined 5.3% to 25,000 m3 in July, down from 26,400 m3 in July 2023. In value, exports decreased 14.9% in the same period, from $13.4 million to $11.4 million.

Pine plywood exports increased 13.8% in value to $59.2 million in July compared to $52.0 million in July 2023. In volume, exports increased 6.8% in the same period, from 159,900 m3 to 170,800 m3.

Tropical plywood exports decreased 35.3% in value and 34.5% in volume, from $1.7 million and 2,900 m3 in July 2023 to $1.1 million and 1,900 m3 in July 2024.

The value of wood furniture exports increased 2.3%, from $47.5 million in July 2023 to $48.6 million in July 2024.
