Omaha, Nebraska, Gaining New 4-Story Mixed Commercial Mass Timber Building

NBC affiliate WOWT in Omaha, Nebraska, is reporting that construction is underway on the city’s first known mass timber commercial building. The building is being touted as more environmentally friendly than most newer commercial building in the downtown area.

Located in Omaha’s Builder’s District, plans call for a 4-story building that will have offices on the top three floors, with shops and restaurants occupying the street level. At least 50% of the building is expected to be constructed of mass timber.

The building is expected to be completed in the spring of 2024.
