This is an increase of 2,000 from the previous week’s revised total of 221,000 (originally 220,000). The 4-week moving average was 227,000—an increase of 750 from the previous week’s revised total of 226,250 (originally 226,000).
The advance number for seasonally adjusted insured unemployment during the week ending March 8 was 1,892,000. This is an increase of 33,000 from the previous week’s revised total of 1,859,000 (originally 1,870,000). The 4-week moving average was 1,875,750—an increase of 6,250 from the previous week’s revised total of 1,869,500 (originally 1,872,250).
The advance seasonally adjusted insured unemployment rate was 1.2% for the week ending March 8, unchanged from the previous week’s unrevised rate.
