US Producer Price Index for Final Demand Unchanged in June

On Wednesday, the US Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported that the Producer Price Index (PPI) for final demand was unchanged in June on a seasonally adjusted basis. This follows a 0.3% increase in May and a 0.3% decline in April. On an unadjusted basis, final demand prices rose 2.3% over the 12 months ending in June.

In June, a 0.3% increase in prices for final demand goods offset a 0.1% decline in the index for final demand services.

Prices for final demand excluding foods, energy, and trade services were also unchanged in June, following a 0.1% uptick in May. Over the past 12 months, this core index rose 2.5%.
