US Mortgage Rates Little Changed in the Week Ending June 12

Freddie Mac has released its Primary Mortgage Market Survey for the week ending Thursday, June 12.

The 30-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 6.84%, down from last week when it averaged 6.85%. A year ago at this time, the 30-year rate averaged 6.95%.

The 15-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 5.97%, down from last week when it averaged 5.99%. A year ago at this time, the 15-year rate averaged 6.17%.

Commenting on the results of this week’s survey, Freddie Mac Chief Economist Sam Khater said:

“Mortgage rates have moved within a narrow range for the past few months, and this week is no different. Rate stability, improving inventory, and slower house price growth are an encouraging combination as we celebrate National Homeownership Month.”
