Mortgage Rates Drop as 2020 Gets Underway
Freddie Mac has reported the results of its Primary Mortgage Market Survey®. The weekly average rate for new mortgages, as of 9th January 2020 were slightly lower. A 30-year fixed rates dropped 3.64%, from last week’s 3.72%. However, the rate was down when compared to a year ago when they were at 4.45%. The average fee remained unchanged at 0.7 points. The 15-year fixed rates remain unchanged at 3.07%, down from 3.16% last week. The 15-year rates were down from 3.89% from a year ago.
