S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller Index Reports 3.8% Annual Gain in US Home Prices in November

On Tuesday, S&P Dow Jones Indices released its S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller US National Home Price NSA Index for November. The Index, covering all nine US census divisions, posted an annual gain of 3.8%, up from 3.6% growth in October.

The 10-City Composite recorded a 4.9% annual increase in November, matching October’s growth. Meanwhile, the 20-City Composite posted a year-over-year gain of 4.3%, slightly higher than 4.2% in October.

New York led the 20 cities with the highest annual increase, rising 7.3%. Chicago followed with a 6.2% gain, and Las Vegas posted a 5.9% increase. In contrast, Tampa saw the smallest year-over-year growth at just 0.4%.

The pre-seasonally adjusted US National, 20-City Composite, and 10-City Composite Indices continued to reverse their upward trends in November. The National Index declined 0.1%, the 20-City Composite fell 0.1%, and the 10-City Composite remained unchanged.

After seasonal adjustments, the US National, 20-City Composite, and 10-City Composite Indices all showed a monthly increase of 0.4%.
