Producer Price Index for Final Demand Unchanged Month-Over-Month but Up Year-Over-Year in November

The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported on Wednesday (12-13-23) that the Producer Price Index (PPI) for final demand, seasonally adjusted, was unchanged in November, following a decline of 0.4% in October. On an unadjusted basis, the index for final demand advanced 0.9% for the 12-month period ending in November.

In November, the indexes for both final demand goods and for final demand services were unchanged.

The index for final demand less foods, energy, and trade services increased 0.1% in November, the sixth consecutive monthly advance. For the 12-month period ending in November, the index for final demand less foods, energy, and trade services rose 2.5%.
