Monthly Furniture Insight Survey Reveals Increased Demand for Residential Furniture as Economy Continues to Recover

Smith Leonard’s latest Monthly Furniture Insight survey of residential furniture manufacturers and distributors continued to show improvement. The survey showed a 39% increase in new orders over July 2019. Approximately 88% of the participants reported increased orders over the same month last year. Survey participants are anticipating an uptick in sales for August and September as well. With new orders exceeding shipments, backlogs grew to an increase of 69% over July 2019.
