Freight Industry Layoffs Accelerating Across North America

The rapidly spreading COVID-19 virus is forcing a change in many North American residents daily work, shopping and entertainment patterns. It should come as no surprise that the truckers who bring merchandise to brick and mortar retailers, as well as those who supply food and supplies to restaurants and bars are being told that for the time being their services are not going to be needed. Of course, this is immediately trickling down to office support staff and sales personnel who are also experiencing layoffs. Layoffs are expected to continue to rise as more businesses close in an attempt to flatten the COVID-19 curve.
