FEA’s Weekly Order Survey Shows Lumber and Panel Sales to Builders Holding Steady in April

Many dealers are reporting that their sales in April have met or exceeded their initial expectations.  Sales into areas where jobsite are shuttered remains on the slow side. Dealers in areas that have just reopened or are scheduled to reopen are anticipating some improved activity in the weeks to come. Again, this week, a few jobs have been put on hold, but the number of cancellations remain minimal. A decline in the GDP for the first quarter of 2020, along with a decline in Pending Home Sales for March and an increase in the number of homeowners seeking a forbearance on their mortgages, continues to indicate that we are still under the influence of the COVID-19 economy slowdown.
