Executive Order Extends Ban on Evictions and Foreclosures Through at Least End of March

President Biden, on Wednesday, January 20th, 2021, issued an executive order that called on the federal departments and to the extended their bans on evictions and foreclosures through at least the end of March. As with previously announced extensions, this act is designed to provide ongoing relief to homeowners and renters feeling the negative impact of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Also, on Wednesday, Housing and Urban Development Secretary Dr. Benjamin Carson and HUD Deputy Secretary Brian Montgomery announced that FHA would now permit DACA status recipients to apply for FHA-insured mortgages. The change was made effective as of January 19.
