Canadian Industrial Product and Raw Materials Price Indexes Post Month-Over-Month Gains in February

On Monday, Statistics Canada (StatCan) reported that the price of products manufactured in Canada, as measured by the Industrial Product Price Index (IPPI) increased 0.7% on a monthly basis in February, following four months of consecutive declines. Year-over-year, however, they posted a 1.7% decline.

StatCan also reported that prices of raw materials purchased by manufacturers operating in Canada, as measured by the Raw Materials Price Index (RMPI), increased 2.1% month-over-month in February but were down 4.7% year-over-year.
