Canada’s Atlantic Provinces Lumber & Building Materials Dealers Discuss Product Shortages

Lumber, hardware and building materials dealers throughout Canada’s Atlantic provinces are reporting that they are experiencing, a shortage of key lumber, panel, hardware and building materials items. Pressure treated lumber in particular is in very tight supply. Even dealers with contracts with a specific treater are reporting having to wait long periods of time shipment of key items. The reason? Many peoples vacation plans have been turned into staycation plans. There is also an increase in the number of people working from home and children participating in offsite learning. Resulting in DIY outdoor projects and in-home remodeling to accommodate in home work and study spaces.
