Robert Schuetz was appointed President and Managing Director of Industrial Forestry Service Ltd. (IFS) in May 2010. IFS is a privately-held, 100-person forestry consulting and forest seedling company that has operated out of Prince George, British Columbia since 1952.
Rob is a Registered Professional Forester with the Association of B.C. Forest Professionals. He is a former Director of the McGregor Model Forest Association, Spatial Mapping Ltd., Security Web Solutions, and the Consulting Foresters of B.C.
Rob has spent the majority of his professional career at IFS. Starting out in 1988, shortly after obtaining his forestry degree from the University of Toronto, his 33 years with the company has exposed him to a wide variety of roles in road engineering, remote sensing, timber supply analysis, seedling production, and general forestry consulting.
Over the past decade, he has acted as a consultant to a wide variety of companies seeking to make capital investment decisions in the BC forest industry. Most of these decisions required a clearer understanding of provincial and regional sawlog and sawmill residual supply and demand dynamics around beetle epidemics, wildfire, old growth preservation, and various BC government policy initiatives.
