Uniboard Canada Inc. Investing $250 Million in New State-Of-The-Art Particleboard Press Line at Its Val-D’Or, Quebec, Facility

Uniboard Canada Inc., a leading North American manufacturer of engineered wood products, announced on Tuesday (6-21-22) that it was investing $250 million (CAD) in a new state-of-the-art particleboard press line at its Val-d’Or, Quebec, plant.

The new continuous press will feature the latest in particleboard production technology. Construction is scheduled to begin later this summer and start-up is targeted for 2025.

In addition to having the latest in particleboard production technology, the Val-d’Or plant will be carbon negative through carbon sequestration in long lasting products and low carbon intensity production. Beyond this, Uniboard will enter the market for thin panels, a biocomposite in high demand in the North American market.
