Canadian National Reports Rail Blockade Between Toronto and Montreal is Over, but New One Has Just Started
The Canadian National (CN) Railroad is in the process of inspecting tracks for safety and is preparing to resume freight traffic on their route between Toronto (Belleville Ont.) and Montreal once those inspections are complete. The blockade, which started on February 6th, in Mohawk territory was in solidarity with efforts by the hereditary leaders of the Wet’suwet’en First Nation in British Columbia to fight the proposed route of the Coastal Gaslink pipeline through their territory in British Columbia. However, a new blockade has just been reported near Hamilton Ont., and will affect the line between Hamilton and all points west on the route of Niagara Falls, Ont.
