US Continues Duties on Chinese Wood Mouldings and Millwork Products

The US Department of Commerce (DOC) will continue antidumping and countervailing duty orders on wood mouldings and millwork products from China, according to a Federal Register notice published on June 30.

DOC and the US International Trade Commission (ITC) determined that revoking the orders would likely lead to the continuation or recurrence of dumping, countervailable subsidies, and material injury to a US industry.

DOC first published the antidumping and countervailing duty orders on February 16, 2021. The ITC instituted, and DOC initiated, the first sunset review on January 2.

On June 24, the ITC determined that revocation would likely lead to the continuation or recurrence of material injury within a reasonably foreseeable time.

The orders cover wood mouldings and millwork products made of wood, bamboo, laminated veneer lumber, or wood and composite materials where composite materials make up less than 50% of the merchandise.
