Bristol Myers Squibb Plans $2.3 Billion Modular Manufacturing Campus in Houston

Bristol Myers Squibb recently announced plans for a new manufacturing campus at Generation Park in Houston, Texas, representing an approximately $2.3 billion investment. The project is expected to create nearly 500 skilled jobs.

The approximately 600,000-square-foot campus will use a modular, multi-modal design intended to support flexibility and long-term growth. Bristol Myers Squibb said the design will allow new manufacturing capabilities to be brought online as pipeline and commercial needs evolve, while accommodating future advances in digital integration and automation.

The company expects the campus to expand in scale, capability, and workforce beyond its initial configuration.

Commenting on the project, Bristol Myers Squibb EVP and Chief Supply Chain and Operations Officer Karin Shanahan said:

“Our decision to build this state-of-the-art manufacturing campus in Houston, Texas, reflects our confidence in the region’s ability to support a world-class, digitally advanced supply operation. This facility is designed to deliver the speed, quality, and reliability that patients depend on, combining flexible, modular manufacturing with advanced digital capabilities to ensure consistent supply across multiple modalities. It strengthens our ability to operate with resilience and positions us to reliably deliver medicines to patients today while adapting future demands.”
