Waynesboro mill ‘complete loss’ after fire
Fire officials in Waynesboro, Mississippi responded to a fire at the Scotch Plywood Company veneer mill in Waynesboro at about 6:30 PM on Wednesday (1/6). Willard H. Crocker, chief of the Waynesboro Fire Department (WFD) says the cause of the fire remains unknown, but he believes the facility is a total loss. The plant employed over 100 people in the local community. There were no reports of injury to Scotch Plywood employees or WFD personnel fighting the blaze. Scotch Plywood has not commented on the fire or the loss.
