Statistics Canada (StatCan) reported on Friday (11-3-23) that lumber production throughout Canada increased 15.0% month-over-month in August to 4,067.9 thousand cubic meters. Year-over-year, production was down 4.6%.
In August, sawmills shipped 3,909.9 cubic meters of lumber—a month-over-month increase of 6.1% but down 12.5% year-over-year.
