On Tuesday, Statistics Canada (StatCan) reported that in March, lumber production in Canada increased 1.0% to 4,397.3 thousand cubic meters. However, year-over-year, production was down 8.5%.
Sawmills shipped 4,325.9 thousand cubic meters of lumber in March. This is 3.1% above February and up 0.2% from March 2023.
