Swedish Roundwood Prices Decline in Q2

On Tuesday, the Swedish Forestry Agency reported that roundwood prices for harvesting assignments declined in Q2 compared with Q1.

Average volume-weighted prices for Scots pine sawlogs fell 12% to SEK855/m³sub, while Norway spruce sawlogs declined 9% to SEK1,059/m³sub.

Pulpwood prices also moved lower. Conifer pulpwood fell 8% to SEK566/m³sub, while broadleaved pulpwood declined 6% to SEK561/m³sub. Fuelwood prices decreased 5% to SEK450/m³sub.

Prices for delivery timber declined 7% for sawlogs and 8% for pulpwood across Sweden during Q2.

The Swedish Forestry Agency noted that the roundwood figures are calculated prices and therefore do not reflect prevailing market prices during the quarter.
