Pfeifer Advances Integration of Pölkky Into Group Operations
Next phase of integrating Pölkky into the Pfeifer Group
On Tuesday, Pfeifer Holding GmbH said it is moving forward with the next phase of integrating Finnish producer Pölkky Oy, which it acquired in January 2023, into the Pfeifer Group.
The company said Pölkky plays a key role in growth, security of supply, and sustainable market opportunities—particularly in the pine segment. Pfeifer added that the integration strengthens its product portfolio and opens potential in further processing.
Pfeifer highlighted investments at Finnish sites, including the Kajaani sawmill, expanded drying capacity in Taivalkoski, and a SAP rollout. Internationalization efforts continue, with demand in Japan above forecast, a new UK sales branch with warehouse in place, and regular US deliveries set to begin this autumn.
Alexander Kainer, CEO of Pölkky Oy and Pfeifer Timber Gmb, said:
“Integrating Pölkky will strengthen the Pfeifer Group over the long term with regard to both our delivery capability and our strategic market position. With top products, a strong team and the clout that comes from joining forces, we’re best placed to fully exploit the opportunities that the global timber market is offering us.”
