Carter Holt Harvey to Close New Zealand’s Eves Valley Sawmill
Carter Holt Harvey has informed about 150 employees at its Eves Valley Sawmill in Tasman, New Zealand, that it plans to consolidate operations with its Kawerau facility in Bay of Plenty, RNZ News reported (8-22-25).
The announcement comes as New Zealand’s timber industry faces weak demand, rising production costs, and trade pressures from overseas conflicts and tariffs.
Carter Holt Harvey was expected to make a final decision on the future of the Eves Valley mill in early September.
