Brazilian Exports of Wood-Based Products Decline in June
According to the International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO), Brazilian exports of wood-based products (excluding pulp and paper) totaled US$305.7 million in June, a 2.4% year-over-year decline from $331.3 million in June 2024.
Pine sawnwood exports fell 5.0% in value, from $59.6 million in June 2024 to $56.5 million. Export volume declined 4.0% over the same period, from 250,900 m3 to 240,400 m3.
Tropical sawnwood exports rose 14.0% in volume, from 27,200 m3 to 31,000 m3. In value, exports increased 11.0%, from $23.9 million to $33.7 million.
Pine plywood exports declined 19.0% in value, from $79.2 million in June 2024 to $64.2 million. Export volume dropped 10.0%, from 224,900 m3 to 202,500 m3.
Tropical plywood exports increased 3.0% in volume, from 2,900 m3 to 3,000 m3, but declined 11.0% in value, from $1.9 million to $1.7 million.
Wooden furniture exports rose 16.0% year-over-year, from $44.6 million in June 2024 to $51.7 million.
