BrasPine Expands in Uruguay With New Sawmill
BrasPine is expanding its presence in Uruguay with a new sawmill project named Oceano, aimed at significantly increasing its production capacity in South America.
Once fully operational, the sawmill is expected to be one of the largest in the region, with a projected production capacity of 35,000 m3 of sawn timber per month.
The investment strengthens BrasPine’s production footprint across South America and reflects a broader push toward high-capacity, modern sawmill operations.
The project is being developed in cooperation with Linares, with MiCROTEC supplying scanners across the log yard, saw line, and green and dry mill. Equipment will include four Logeye, two Truespin, two Goldeneye Transverse scanners, and a Wanescan. Mechanical lines will be supplied by Holtec, Linck, and Springer.
Commenting on the project, BrasPine Industrial Director Pedro Pinilla said:
“Our goal was to select a supplier with whom we have built a long-standing relationship. This is not the right moment to take unnecessary risks, and working with a well-established supplier with proven experience in our region is a key consideration for us. We look forward to making this a successful project together.”
MiCROTEC Sales Account Manager for South America Ronald Klotz added:
“After delivering scanners for several projects to BrasPine in the past, we are proud that they have once again chosen MiCROTEC for this project. This decision builds on a long-term partnership and reflects mutual trust in proven solutions and technical expertise.”
