Brooklyn Mass Timber Condo Project Prepares to Open

A 23-unit luxury residential condo project in Brooklyn’s Williamsburg area is preparing to open, Urbanize reported (7-7-26).

The seven-story, 43,000-square-foot building, dubbed Timberburg, is expected to be New York City’s largest mass-timber project to date when complete. The project is also aiming for Passive House certification.

The 75-foot-tall building features an exposed timber superstructure with black and white fluted panel cladding. The design team includes Builtd and ZH Architects, with EP Engineering, Wexler Associates, and Element5 providing engineering services. KSK Construction is the general contractor.

The prefabricated CLT structure required extensive upfront coordination but offers opportunities for faster construction with less labor. Units range from 600 to 2,300 square feet and include one-, two-, and three-bedroom floor plans.
