US Producer Price Index for Final Demand Increases 0.2% in November

On Wednesday, the US Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported that the Producer Price Index (PPI) for final demand rose 0.2% in November on a seasonally adjusted basis. This followed a 0.1% increase in October and a 0.6% gain in September.

On an unadjusted basis, the index for final demand increased 3.0% for the 12 months ending in November.

The November advance in final demand prices was driven by a 0.9% increase in prices for final demand goods. Prices for final demand services were unchanged.

The index for final demand less foods, energy, and trade services increased 0.2%, after rising 0.7% in October. Over the 12 months ending in November, this measure climbed 3.5%, matching its largest year-over-year increase since March.
