US imports of wood household furniture fell in Q1
A 4% drop in shipments from Asia pushed total US offshore imports of wood household furniture 3% lower in 2019 Q1, compared with year-ago. US offshore imports for the quarter totaled $2.79 billion (2018$). Chinese volumes from were down more than 20%, but growing imports from Vietnam, where China is investing in furniture manufacturing, mitigated that decline.
