Potential Buyers List a Home Office as a Top Priority

According to the National Association of Home Builders consumer preference study, What Home Buyers Really Want, which was last conducted in 2018, a majority of prospective buyers back then indicated that they wanted a home office, followed by a dedicated exercise space and large family specialty area such as media or game room. It should come as little surprise that with the recent major shift in where people spend their time, due to the lock down orders put into place to slow the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, that current potential buyers want those features more than ever. Although the lock down orders will be eased soon, the fact that millions of people were compelled to spend unprecedented amounts of time inside their homes may have a longer-term effect on people’s preferences.
