The US National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC) reported that as of Friday, June 12, 11 large fires were actively burning across the country.
The National Fire Preparedness Level remains at 2 out of 5. A total of 2,559 personnel are assigned to incidents nationwide, including one complex incident management team committed to the South Fork Fire in Nebraska.
In Nebraska, the South Fork Fire is threatening numerous residences, with evacuations in place.

As of Friday, there were 9 large wildfires or emergency responses ongoing, with 2 fires contained.
California and Florida each reported 2 new large wildfires, while Alaska, Colorado, and North Carolina each reported 1.
The updated year-to-date comparison is as follows:
- Year-to-date through June 12, 32,373 wildfires have been reported, burning 2,521,421 acres.
- During the same period last year, 31,039 wildfires were reported, burning 1,293,101 acres.
- The 10-year average (2016–25) for the same period is 23,626 wildfires and 1,431,515 acres burned.
