Roseburg Announces the Closure of Its Missoula, MT, Particleboard Plant

On Wednesday, Roseburg announced that it will permanently cease operations at its Missoula, Montana, particleboard plant on Wednesday, May 22nd.

The plant was purchased from Louisiana-Pacific in 2003 but was originally built in 1969, and Roseburg said that the age of manufacturing platform created challenges as the mill competed with more modern plants.

According to the press release, the closure is the final step in the company’s strategic plan to exit the particleboard manufacturing business and focus resources on other product segments, including MDF, engineered wood products, plywood, and lumber.

The plant currently employs 150 people, and Roseburg say it will work closely with local resources to assist affected team members as the closure date approaches.
