Sweden’s JGA Sawmill Group Receives Expanded Production Permit

JGA, a family-owned sawmill group in Sweden, announced that it has been granted a new production permit for its Linneryd facility, allowing annual production of up to 400,000 m3sv of sawn timber.

The company said the decision from the County Administrative Board marks an important milestone in its long-term development and creates greater flexibility to adapt production to market demand.

In recent years, JGA has made several major investments at Linneryd, including a new intake for the small line, a new measuring frame, a new TC dryer, and improvements to logistics flow. The company said the investments have made operations more efficient and created conditions for a higher production rate.

JGA said its previous production ceiling had periodically limited output, despite strong demand for sawn and planed wood products. With the new permit in place, the company said it will be better positioned to strengthen its role in Sweden’s forest and wood industry.

Commenting on the permit, JGA CEO Claes Andersson said (translated):

“This is important and welcome news for us. The permit gives us greater freedom of action and better opportunities to meet future demand. It also creates good conditions to fully utilize the investments we have made in recent years at our facility in Linneryd, which strengthens our long-term competitiveness.”
