Canfor Pulp Temporarily Curtailing Intercontinental Pulp Mill
Canfor Pulp Products Inc. announced on Monday (12-19-22) the immediate curtailment of its Intercontinental Pulp Mill, located in Prince George, British Columbia, Canada. The curtailment is expected to last for four weeks. According to the company, the curtailment is due to the lack of available economic fiber as a result of ongoing sawmill curtailments in British Columbia. The downtime is expected to remove approximately 24,000 tons of market kraft pulp.
Canfor Pulp Products says that it will continue closely monitor fiber supply and will adjust it operating rating accordingly.
