Curtailed since December 2021, the future of Canfor’s Taylor Pulp Mill became even more uncertain with the company’s release of its Q4 earnings report on Tuesday (2-28-23), according to reporting by Energeticcity.
Embedded in the Q4 report, Canfor said, “As a result of a reduction in the long-term supply of fiber in the Peace (BC) region, the company does not see a path forward to restarting the Taylor mill at this time and is exploring alternative uses for the site.”
Since January, Canfor has announced sawmill and pulp mill closures in Chetwynd, Prince George, Houston, and Port Alberni.
