Hampton Lumber Breaks Ground on New Sawmill in Fairfax, SC
On November 5, South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster joined representatives of the Southern Carolina Alliance and other state and local partners for a ceremonial groundbreaking for Hampton Lumber’s new sawmill in Fairfax, Bluffton Today reported (11-18-25).
Oregon-based Hampton Lumber plans to build a 375,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art mill at Highway 321 and Barker Mill Pond Road. The facility will produce Southern pine framing lumber.
The company said the $225 million investment is expected to create at least 125 jobs, with full operations targeted for 2027.
Hampton Lumber, a fourth-generation, family-owned producer, sources its wood products from sustainably managed forests. The company operates nine sawmills in Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia.
